Core Component
The Content Conductor Server
is the core of the Content Distribution Asset Management (CDAM)
solution and conducts all elements in the network and orchestrates
the total process.
The Cast4All software architecture consists
of:
· *Infrastructure*: an integrated run-time
environment based on OOTS (Open Source Off the Shelve)
components, and the generic Cast4All *PALVER* (Provisioning
Applications Linking Views and Engines Remotely) software
suite. This is the Cast4All /Conductor/ or server, a J2EE
compliant 4-tier web application platform, including the flexible
creation of dedicated service engines or threads.
· *Applications*: software application suites
corresponding to a specific set of required functionalities,
tasks, and/or processes. The previously described *_Content
Conductor_* is the first application of the platform, and
contains the previously identified components */network/*,
*/storage/*, and */dispatch/*. Other applications include
the *_Site Manager_* for the monitoring and management of
remote (often containerized) power solutions, *_Facility Monitor_*
for equipment management in datacenters, and the *_Process
Integrator_* for the management and integration of processing
jobs in a digital or tapeless broadcast studio environment.
A fourth suite, *_Call Manager_*, managing nurse call systems
in the healthcare market, has recently been released.
· *Identities*: configured and/or tuned versions
of such an application, corresponding to specific market applications.
Markets for the Content Conductor are digital cinema networks
and digital television distribution to regional cable head-ends,
Site Manager markets include containerized power solutions
on fiber backbone networks and power units on railway loges.
