Cast4All successfully concludes ESA project for its digital cinema project.

Cast4All has successfully met all requirements and delivered the last milestone for its digital cinema project with ESA.

During a presentation at Barco, a full motion picture of more than 60GBytes was transmitted using an own developed reliable Forward Error Correcting (FEC) scheme without the need for a continuous back channel. This makes the FEC scheme suitable for distributing large files to thousands of theatres.

The second part of the project was the provisioning of the satellite transmission through a portal. The portal offers a fully automatic provisioning of the satellite uplink, allows for defining the receiving stations and reports the actual reception status for each receiver only using an Internet browser.

This project has demonstrated to ESA that Cast4All is a valuable technology partner and that it is capable to bring value added solutions to the satellite industry.
